Regional Offices for GCA open for South Asia and Africa |

GCA’s regional office for South Asia, GCA Bangladesh, was launched by Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Ministerial statements from six of the eight countries in the region were followed by compelling statements from Chair of GCA’s Board Ban Ki-moon and the Honourable Foreign Minister Dr. Momen and followed by the inaugural GCA South Asia Partnership Forum.
GCA’s regional office for Africa, GCA Africa, was launched in partnership with the African Development Bank. The high-level launch included participation from senior figures from global and African politics, including GCA co-Chairs Ban Ki-moon and Feike Sijbesma, GCA Board Members IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina, the Presidents of Ghana, Kenya and Ethiopia, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, and representatives from the African Adaptation Initiative and the African Union Commission. The launch was followed by the inaugural GCA Africa Partnership Forum.

The high-level launches and subsequent Partnership Forums featured high-level support for collaborating to accelerate adaptation, allowing the formation of valuable collaborations and transformative regional work programs. |
