During the three-year sponge city pilot construction period, Jinan received 1.5 billion yuan of central financial subsidy. In February 2017, Jinan was approved as a national pilot city for climate-resilient urban construction. Jinan all-round to carry out the city to adapt to climate change action, improve the ability to adapt to climate change of the city and building safety, toughness, livable, quality of modern springs, efforts to build mountains, springs, lakes, rivers, the integration of city of urban water circulation system, address the springs dried up, frequent floods, water shortage, water pollution and other issues, sponge cities and climate adaptive building pilot fruitful.
